GHOSTS AND GRIEVING

Due to COVID-19 we are unable to offer the ghosts and grieving tour for 2020. however, you can purchase tickets to visit the Root house in mourning before or after a tour.

During the month of October, visitors to the William Root House will have an opportunity to see the oldest surviving home in Marietta decorated for mourning as it would have been at the time of Leonard's death in 1856. Visitors will learn about 1850s mourning practices and superstitions about death.
